We are proud to announce the launch of our new nonprofit, the
Canadian Family Childcare Foundation
01
Who We Are
The Canadian Family Childcare Foundation (CFCF) is a not-for-profit organization which aims to work in collaboration with existing programs and supports to fill in the gaps and better meet the needs of family childcare and family day homes.
02
What We Do
The CFCF offers evidence-based professional development, networking, and support based on decades of experience and guided by research on home-based childcare, also called family day homes, family childcare, and family home day care.

03
How We Differ
Our organization stems from a deep understanding that home-based childcare, where one person works from their own home providing early learning and childcare for a small group of children in mixed age groups, is different from centre-based childcare settings. We recognize that family childcare, or family day homes, have unique needs and abilities – and we offer services to help fill in the gap which exists within a childcare system primarily aimed at supporting centre-based educators.
04
Help Us Plan!
We are preparing to launch free networking sessions, monthly professional development opportunities, and more! You can help guide our organization by letting us know the times and topics which best meet your needs

Become a Member!
We believe that early childhood education systems work best when we grow strong together by sharing our wisdom, experiences, and knowledge. We believe in transparency and amplifying the voice of those who may not otherwise be heard. This is why anyone interested in supporting family childcare can become a voting member of the CFCF. Yearly membership includes access to 2 free workshops, the opportunity to attend and vote at board meetings, and discounted rates for professional development and the annual Bursting into Spring virtual family childcare conference.

Logo Competition
As a brand-new organization, we need a logo that represents who we are and what we stand for - and we need your help! We invite you to submit your original design by emailing a PDF or jpeg to our CEO Laura Woodman at info@dayhomedreams.ca. The logo contest will continue until a design is selected. The design can be digitally created, drawn by hand, or a child’s drawing. The winner will be credited on our official website (coming soon!) and receive a $100 prize.
